Sanremo and fashion

The iconic looks on the Ariston stage

By

Also this year the Sanremo festival has come to an end, a program that over the years has become increasingly young and social, a program that no longer speaks only of music but also of culture, current events and issues of everyday life.

The role of fashion within the Festival is fundamental. Together with the artist, the clothes convey the message of her song, allowing you to reach the viewer at 360 degrees. The Ariston stage becomes a catwalk where every stylist and costume designer tries to make history.

1961.

In Sanremo, a young Mina takes the stage singing "Mille bolle blu" and causing a sensation for her "promotional" dress made of chiffon and with blue dots, representing her own song. It was made by her trusted seamstress.

Orietta Berti wears for the 1969 edition, but according to the rumor it was her dress made by Mila Schon. Completely sequined and semi-adherent, it was considered unsuitable for the festival due to its lack of sobriety. Despite the criticisms, years later Orietta Berti was rewarded for giving space to fashion on the Sanremo stage precisely through that dress.

1984.

Patty Bravo in a Geisha version with a dress by Gianni Versace. A look that will go down in history for paying homage to Japan through a knitted dress, gathered hair and a pure oriental style fan.
