Last night the highly anticipated interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aired in Italy. Held by US television icon Oprah Winfrey, the two-hour chat was held in a giant mansion in Santa Barbara and left everyone quite perplexed.
Who is really Meghan Markle?
If you thought you were getting rid of all doubts and finding out the truth by watching Oprah, well it wasn't. The former Duchess of Sussex told the story of her relationship with the English royal family, from entering the court to the “escape from the trap”, tarnishing the name of the oldest monarchy in the world with very serious accusations.
It goes without saying that the entire interview was designed to mimic the one released by Lady Diana on November 20th, 1995 to the BBC, when she spoke openly about postpartum syndrome and how “crowded” her marriage had been.
It is not just the black make-up in the eyes (a detail that in any case highlights the desire to retrace the footsteps both in terms of container and content), but a rhetoric perfectly sewn on the character. Pauses, dramatic sighs, three or four tears to enrich the whole. On the other hand, she is an actress.
But let's get to the point: what were the most salient points of the interview?
The relationship with Kate Middleton
One of the first issues faced by Oprah and Meghan was the relationship with her sister-in-law Kate. In 2018, the British tabloids, with a worldwide echo, released the first uncomfortable news for the former Duchess, according to which a few days after her wedding she would have made Middleton cry.
During the interview with Cbs, Meghan denied what happened and stated that she had never had the opportunity to tell the facts before because it was silenced by the royal house. The truth about her is that she was the one who shed tears because of Kate. Reason for discussion: the color of the bridesmaids' dresses.
However, she said he forgave her and didn't hold a grudge, pointing out that you can love Kate without hating her and vice versa.
The relationship with “the firm”
Throughout the interview, the British royal house is defined by both Meghan and Harry as “the firm”. It's not a casuality. “The firm” would be the name by which all members of the royal family and the entourage would call the operational organization of the same. The choice to use this name rather than a simple “family” is very strategic.
A language studied in the smallest detail so as to make the royal house appear cold and hostile, without the slightest scruple and inclined only to their own interests, even when they could clash with a member of their family, in fact.
Depression and suicidal thinking
Meghan has said several times that she felt trapped. You describe Buckingham Palace as a golden cage. A beautiful place that she hides a lot, a lot of mud, to the point that she the American she admitted to having fallen into depression and trying to ask for help.

The accusations of racism and hostility towards Archie
The royal family would have been really worried about the color of the skin Archie would have had at his birth. But when asked which member specifically would have raised the question, the two do not answer: “it would be too harmful to reveal it”.
The royal titles of Archie, according to the couple, would have been denied by the queen also leading to a denial of protection on the child, both in terms of the media and as regards the bodyguards.
Here, too, we perceive a forced story of what happened. In 1917 George V decided that only the direct grandsons of the sovereign would be entitled to the title.

The “escape from the trap”
More specifically, the actress said she had to cancel her entire previous life by entering the palace.
Forced to hand over documents, driving license and independence, she would have left a life full of friends, events and fun outside the golden gate. She “naively” she did not expect to have to give up so much and this over time has led her to a strong depression.
With the unique help of her husband Harry she managed to organize the escape from the UK to the USA. It was not just a question of too harsh etiquette for a layman, but of a real machine of mud and terror that literally does not allow you to live within the context.
The relationship with Prince Harry
Prince Harry's participation in the interview was entirely marginal and will likely be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Performance of the year.
When not “elegantly” silenced by his wife, Harry recounts how Meghan made him open his eyes to where and how he had lived up to that point. A false and hypocritical world from which he managed to get out, almost feeling sorry for his loved ones still there.
An approach to the subject reminiscent of those of Scientology sects. A prince probably psychologically (always) too weak and therefore easy to subjugate.
