Acrimònia Home Tour: Dakota Johnson

The actress opens the doors of her Hollywood home

By

If like me you are curious to observe the houses of others when you visit your friends, if you waste hours browsing interior design sites, fantasizing about how to furnish your future home or how to beautify the current one or if, walking through the streets of your city, you are intrigued by an illuminated window that reveals a decorated ceiling and a corner of the living room, finding yourself imagining how the rest of the rooms could be well… the Architectural Digest video series is the one for you.

For this format, many celebrities have opened the doors of their dream homes, but one in particular has bewitched me from the beginning, that of Dakota Johnson.

It would seem to have had the same effect on the actress as well, having been only the second house she scoured before choosing which one to buy, as well as the first ever to have bought.

It is certainly luxurious but, unlike the typical Hollywood marble villas, it has an authentic soul. In fact, in this house, vintage and natural blend perfectly with modernity, creating a harmonious environment that reflects the passions and the style of Dakota.

The house has a wooden structure, from which wall windows peek out in the living room, perfect for highlighting the decorative crystals that dot the space.

It is precisely in the salon that one of the actress's favorite hobbies, that of reading, appears clear. Books with refined covers cover furniture and walls. In this room you can breathe a vintage atmosphere, the old sofa was covered with a precious mohair and the coffee table, with a bamboo base, was a "stroke of luck", as it was already present in the house at the time of purchase.

Next to the piano, an antique Wurlitzer, there is a piece of furniture in which Dakota puts her vinyls in categorical alphabetical order. The white wooden ceiling hosts some scenic plays of light, thanks to the reflection of the sun on the swimming pool.

The studio, also lined with books, is the place where the actress studies her scripts and where she stores her awards. Other musical instruments in the corners and hang on the walls some iconic framed memorabilia such as: a photograph of the writer Hunter S. Thompson, a close friend of his father and a photo of her grandmother, portrayed with one of her "pet" tigers.

The dining room has a transparent table, deliberately designed so that it "disappeared" and did not steal the show from the brightness coming from outside, rather it exalted it. To enrich the room, not only in terms of aesthetics but also of mood through "positive vibrations", there are crystals of every shape, color and size.

One of the flagships of this home is certainly the green kitchen, one of Dakota's favorite colors, which goes well with her beloved limes which, when displayed, seem almost an integral part of the furniture, nothing is left to chance. Even small details like this make a difference.

Another gem is certainly the garden, not dispersive, of the right size and with citrus trees to embellish it. If then, the garden table and chairs were made from the wood of Winston Churchill's yacht as in this case, I would say that it is impossible not to be fascinated by it!

The swimming pool is there, certainly not the Olympic size one but it is large enough to cool off from the hot L.A. sun and the water, surrounded by greenery, is an ode to relaxation.

On the second floor there is the sleeping area, which can be reached from both the inside and the outside. Here we find a whirlpool tub but ... the bedroom is top secret, or rather it is in the AD video, in some photos you can see it, no problem.

50 shades of style like in the other rooms, trust me!
