After the years of the pandemic and the strikes of writers and actors, the production houses point to the second-hand safe, with a whole series of prequel and sequels or stories drawn from famous novels. Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse

Joker: Folie à Deux
In autumn 2024 (4 October) it will be the turn of Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to Joker. At the camera Todd Phillips returns to the scene, who will also be co-writer and producer, while Joaquin Phoenix (still fresh for the Oscar for Best Actor in 2020 for the first film) will be Arthur Fleck aka Joker. The film will co-star Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga. Nothing is yet known about the plot, but it has been announced that the film will be a kind of musical set mainly at the Arkham Asylum and will focus on the time spent by the Joker in the iconic criminal asylum. A risky bet to make it as a musical but the film could still be successful, given the names of the actors in play.

Inside Out 2
After the success of Inside Out in 2015 (which also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film in 2016), Disney-Pixar, at a distance of time, officially renewed the project for a sequel film to be released on June 14, 2024 in the United States. According to director and co-writer Pete Docter, the second film will explore more deeply the concept of emotions in a light and ironic way: features that made the first film a worldwide success. The protagonist, Riley, this time will face a different phase of life, having now grown: inside her mind, new and cute characters will explore the depths and disturbances of his emotions. Anthropomorphic characters representing emotions fighting for control of Riley’s actions, such as Anger, Fear, Sadness and Joy will definitely make their return. Yet another success for Pixar?

2024 will be a year of movie surprises or expected flops? The turbulent events of Hollywood has made many productions slip to next year: this has affected both the writing and the staging of the works.
