We never got a better time to fill, even just in our immagination, the blank spaces of our homes with new styles and design inspirations overseas, from that Land of dreams that today, with Kamala Harris as the first female and black Vice President, litterally seems a land of dreams. We have been in France, in Corea and even in Scandinavia Peninsula. Today we are going to travel - just virtually (don’t worry Giuseppe) - through some made in USA furnishings.
For someone that, with a certain persistence, doesn’t feel Christmas season without watching Home Alone, american homes shouldn’t have any secrets. Yet, it didn’t took me long to change my mind. The truth is that after a fine research among american house styles, I’ve come to a fully not-scientifical conclusion: the american style has been pervaded from an unusual simplicity of spaces that I honestly didn’t expected. Still far away from feng-shui principles, the interiors have absorbed a sort of neutrality of colors without giving up on representing the personality of who lives there.
Canadian youtuber and singer Sierra Furtado’s modest (if your’s and Beyoncé’s incomes are alike) house seems to know it well. I’m too old to remember her name but too young not to remember that weepy song she used to sang with her old boyfriend (spoiler: they broke up). Romantic affairs aside, the sweet Sierra represents everything I’ll never be: a LA property’s owner, able to keep up with her Instagram feed, rich.

And from what I can see thanks to a quick digital-sociological research, she is the perfect stereotype of a typical overseas influencer. Her home is just one of the many scenaries for her pictures, the background to images in which the main figure is always herself. Wide spaces of the house are enlighted thank to a vivid light that comes across big windows. The floor is often a wood floring and its tone is opposed to white, predominant color in all the furniture.
Another blonde, wildly beautiful, is the Victoria’s Secret angel Martha Hunt. The model lives in a NYC apartment that we can occasionally see from her homemade pictures. The limited amount of space and the dim light make the place atmosphere warm and charming. In contrast to the french ones, here the flowers are still alive. Little green plants or bouquet of colourful flowers animate the soft colours of small tables and design shelves where everything is put with a perfect mess.

Even the american style seem to have surrendered to the minimal mood. Brittenelle is a perfect example for that. She’s an influencer from LA, well-known in the queer community. Her elegant style, always in balance between masculinity and femininity, is reflected on design details that she shares. The space is always perfectly organized, the shapes are clean and geometrics, the contrast between light and dark shades are well-marked.

Last but not least, Arden Rose, american actress and influencer. Unlike her home tour colleagues, her Instagram feed is less fancy and her simplicity appreciated. Her furniture are unpretentious and they seem to take inspiration from the poetic european atmosphere. In the home environment in which she sometimes capture herself, we can see a must-have piece of furniture: a library, made of a very simple wooden structure that relates to the floor tonality.

An honorable mention must go to the kitchen, heart of the american style houses. Large-sized, open on the living room, in most cases it centers around a multifunction kitchen counter. Legend has it, that if you dont’ have a kitchen island in your house, you can be charged of outrage to the country. Keep that in mind in case you plan on moving to USA, I know you’re thinking about it now that Trump is no longer President.
