No one would ever dare to question VIPS with beautiful noses, imposing lips, rulers, and long enough blond hair (?). Neither do I, of course.
I’m a thinking person and I just want to think that I can know a person who is a model in this and in future cases, even though I’ve never met her. Thinking gives us the power to believe in the reality of what we are thinking. It's a game in my head, a pastime. I scroll Instagram's feed, I meet Kaia in front of the mirror, twins in 90% of cases turned away, sweet Freja with downcast eyes and dreamy eyes, Chiara S. playing with her dog, Kendall taking part in the umpteenth #challenge.
What I would like to try to say, without any (critical) aftertaste, is that if I were Lucette Van Beek's neighbor, every morning I came across her, if our shoulders would collide weekly and our eyes would beg for mercy at the end of the day, I would trust her.

And yet, I said, if I were to meet her daily, I would fall in love with her in a friendly way. I would certainly not be frightened by that meter and eighty of grandeur.
A reassuring figure that to the question “What is fashion for you?” Would answer “Important, because you wear it every day.” No cryptic reflection, difficult to understand, no convoluted reasoning, a banality... in the obvious positive sense of the term. If I had to ask her in front of a slice of cake “What do you like to do in your spare time?”, She would answer me without tricks: “Shopping!” Her hidden secret is to create a capsule with Rihanna's Fenty line, she loves to draw but she’s not so good. Her primary goal is to stay healthy.
Then without any doubt I can happily say that, in my head: Lucette is the friend you would like out of the nightclub bathroom to wait you and, if necessary, protect you, she's the one the others look at without her noticing, she's the presence, instead of my mother, who prepares the dessert on Sunday afternoon while I’m waiting for her on the sofa.
