Chanel appoints Charlotte Casiraghi as ambassador and spokesperson for the Maison

What connects the young Princess to the brand is not only the friendship between her mother Caroline and Chanel’s former creative director Karl Lagerfeld, but the values she embodies.

Charlotte has been choosing to wear Chanel in different occasions since a very young age: from her first front row at the Paris Fashion Week in 2017 to her wedding with Dimitri Rassam last year, Charlotte inherited her mother’s wardrobe.

Belonging to the Royalty of the Principality of Monaco reflects the exclusivity, luxury and desire that have always characterized the brand.

But it’s the natural grace and elegance that make her the perfect contemporary princess: sophisticated and pragmatic, Charlotte sully embraces the woman Chanel wants to represent.

Virginie Viard, the Maison’s new designer after Karl’s death in 2019, decides then to appoint her as brand ambassador and spokesperson, as well as the protagonist of the new SS21 ready-to-wear campaign shot in Monaco by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Not only, together with Virginie, Charlotte will actively participate to the brand’s newest literature project, Les Rendez-vous littéraires rue Cambon: a series of meetings with different artists to read and discuss about current issues and more, shading a light on the love for books and literature both Gabrielle Chanel and Charlotte share.

With a degree in philosophy, Grace Kelly’s granddaughter is also the president of the association Rencontres philosophiques de Monaco, which wants to promote philosophy through monthly debates about numerous themes.

Modest and charming, the timeless elegance of Charlotte is not new to the fashion industry as she has already been chosen to represent luxury brands.

Frida Giannini was the first one to see in the sophisticated beauty of the young Princess a big potential, deciding to realize an exclusive wardrobe designed by Gucci for the 2010 “Global Champions Tour” showjumping competition, in which Charlotte took part.

The passion for showjumping is what links her to the Italian brand, that in 2012 chose, in fact, Charlotte as Gucci’s new testimonial for the “Forever Now” campaign, making her the new face of the brand for a few years after.

From Gucci Cosmetics to Gucci’s perfume Flora, originally launched for her grandmother Grace, Charlotte reflects the style of successful and contemporary woman Gucci wanted to portray.

In 2015 she became Brand Ambassador for Montblanc in occasion of the Salon Intrnational de la Haute Horlogerie.

Charlotte is the new testimonial for the new jewelry, watch and writing accessories “Bohème”, as she represents the charisma, talent and angagement.

The collaboration continues and in 2018 she launched her personal collection with the luxury Maison called “Les Aimants by Charlotte Casiraghi”. The collection is composed by women’s jewels inspired by the concept of attraction and opposition made of contrasting colors and materials to highlight the more versatile and modern face of Montblanc.

Finally, in 2018 another iconic French Maison chose Charlotte as testimonial: it’s the case of Yves Saint Laurent.

Charlotte featured the video for the FW18/19 campaign directed by Anthony Vaccarello, who is also the designer of the brand, and filmed by David Sims.

The video campaign shows a more rebel and confident Charlotte, still with the chic allure that characterizes her.

Her charm and hypnotic beauty, together with the talent and intellectual engagement, make Charlotte spokesperson of contemporaneity and sophistication, essential features for the new 2020 woman.
