The Power of Love: in fashion, cinema, music

We never get tired of love. We’re endlessly searching for it, waiting for it, we adore love and we hate it sometimes and we cannot stop talking about it

Let’s see how love has influenced the artistic fields such as fashion, cinema and music.

Love in advertising:

Jacquemus has just revealed its latest campaign, a powerful hymn of love in all its shades. The portraits of different couples kissing and hugging and tenderly caressing each other are both intimate and delicate and cool and intense. The lovers’ beautiful diversities, all unified by the common feeling of love, are the main focus of Jacquemus’s “L’Amour” campaign, and we cannot help but love it.

Love in movies and series:

A few weeks ago, Netflix released Malcolm & Marie”, an intense reflexion upon being in a relationship, starring the very talented and very gorgeous Zendaya and John David Washington.

Amazon Prime Video recently released a couple of interesting titles. “Soulmates” is a (not too much) dystopian series based in the near future. The existence of a love test which guarantees you to find your real soulmate completely unsettles the characters’ lives and relationships. It’s disturbing, thought-provoking and incredibly intense.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a delicate and intimate love story, you can watch “God’s Own Country”, the very first movie by Francis Lee, who also directed “Ammonite” with Saoirse Ronan and Kate Winslet. Set in the lonely lands of Yorkshire, the story, halfway between “Brokeback Mountain” and “Wuthering Heights”, talks about Johnny, a disenchanted young man, and Georghe, who hides a tender heart under his grumpy face, who fall in love.

Love in music:

In almost a month, here in Italy all the public attention will be devoted to Sanremo, the country’s most popular music festival. We’re so ready to listen to some of the songs. Madame, Fedez and Francesca Michielin, Coma Cose (couple goals on the stage and in real life), … they’re all going to sing about love, as anticipated by the Corriere della Sera.
