Nike Air Max SS21: a never ending evolution

By Beatrice Jennifer Tagliabue

Nike definitely needs no introduction: its identity, its values and its always-innovative design made the brand a legend first in the sportswear, and then in the more casual and street segment as well.

Starting from a few years ago, the sneakers market had a very high increase, with limited edition collections that contributed to the birth of the reselling and sneakerheads phenomena. Not only, recently the focus has been directed also to historical, archive, vintage and unique pieces that usually people want to collect. This trend of looking back to the past has involved the entire fashion industry, that concentrated on iconic pieces proposed in a modern way.

With an advertising campaign that delivers a nostalgic but also futuristic mood and feeling, which is the perfect synthesis of past and future, Nike’s new Air Max Spring 2021 collection talks to the newer young generation through an innovative design.

Let’s discover the three main models of the collection, that will be released during spring 2021.

Air Max 2090 EOI – “Evolution of Icons”

This is the more classical model of the collection, inspired by Air Max family’s most iconic details and features, like those from Air Max 90, Air Max 180 and Air Max BW.

The Pack EOI has different proposals, all characterized by hybrid lines highlighted even more by bright-toned colors. The models of reference here are Air Max 270 React EOI, Air Max Zephyr EOI, Air Max 90 SE EOI, Air Max Plus SE EOI and Air Max 95 EOI.

Air Max Viva

Born from the evolution of the women’s line, Air Max Viva have a Cushlon midsole and a large Air Max Unit in the heel that balance out the whole silhouette and form.

The model’s variations present more details such as leather features, closed mesh and nabuck detailing, a speckled midsole and a two-tone rubber outsole.

VaporMax Evo

Surely a braver Air Max development and a bolder version of the classic VaporMax: the design inspired by Air Max 90, Air Max 93 and Air Max Plus has set the base for this new more innovative version.

Inside the box customers will find in fact a booklet describing the whole Air Max evolution process, the logo, the colors and other curiosities.

Which model is your favorite?
