Scrolling through the usual feed, with the usual enthusiasm and canonical rhythm I came across @barbara.shilova: artist and model. More artist than model. More art than part. It’s difficult to frame her and despite my imagination you often travel more than necessary... this time no, I cannot say that I seem to know her.
The angelic features, the tiny body, the origins, the artistic contaminations, a mix of elements that lead me to be almost afraid of being able to associate someone like her. The stereotype of the girl next door (see Lucette Van Beek) or of the shy friend (still Costanza Nisi) doesn’t suit her, Barbara Shilòva is a set of ideas, of different (musical?) genres, of colors that fight each other, of sweet and savory flavors. The most challenging that we have presented to you so far and the most complex.

It’s a format, that of “Model Identikit” which tends to recognize valid field personalities, who often pass by quietly or otherwise. Then we throw them there, whether they could interest you humanly or serve you professionally.
However, returning to the angelic Barbara, on behance (in 2014) she describes herself as “transport designer, illustrator and painter”, she doesn’t mention the profession of model. She probably starts exercising it later. On her IG bulletin board, instead, photos of her in iconic magazine covers and photos of her body alternate between works of art signed BS, serious expressions to images that reveal her being “girl”.

A whole figure of her is flanked by the caption “I am the smallest human in the world” and here I understand that there are people who cannot be explained, they are so and that's all. One of these is surely Barbara Shilóva.
