The original series, broadcast from 2007 to 2012, is a cult and still very popular, appreciated and incredibly in step with the times. The concept of circulating rumors and news via text messages and blogs seems to have anticipated what would have been the current engine of social networks and new jobs connected to them, such as that of the influencer. What better was it for a reboot then?

The plot would in fact be the following: eight years after the original website was shut down, a new generation of teenagers from New York's private schools are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address how social media and the landscape of New York itself have changed in the years since.

If in the first Gossip Girl the protagonists were wondering who this mysterious entity was, in the reboot the intent will be to highlight how, in today's world, we have all become a little bit Gossip Girl. The intent of the authors would also be that of a more inclusive portrait of reality, “a more queer show”, as Joshua Safran defined it.

The original series was a lucky launch pad for many stars including Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass ) and Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) and it would certainly be very exciting for fans to see them appear in a cameo. It is still correct, however, to give space to the new cast, wishing them the same luck, here are some of their names: Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Jason Gotay and Jonathan Fernandez. A constant?

The iconic narrator of Gossip Girl in the original series, that of Kristen Bell, who will return to describe the new events for HBO. The fame of the original series is certainly also due to the fashion aspect, Eric Daman, who designed the costumes, accepted the challenge of dressing up the reboot. We just have to stay tuned to discover the dynamics and secrets of the new generation.

Xoxo, Gossip Girl
