I spent the first twelve years of my short life hearing me say around 9:00 pm on each sacred evening: “Brush your teeth and put on your pajamas.” It was my mother, that as a good Swiss woman, always respecting the times and giving orders until when allowed.
I have never conceived pajamas as a cool item, although the seasons have met it as a trend over and over again, I have always neglected the aesthetic impact and continued to refer to my (mine, because in my head) fashion dogmas where the tailored shirt is in pole position for the androgynous and ineffable allure that characterizes it.
The head, from origins introduced in Western culture as a men's garment, soon became the best friend of the fairer sex. And from there (around the 20s of the ‘900) it has undergone an evolution, versatile for connotation, in terms of shape, fabric, color, length.
However, Sleeper (a Ukrainian brand, founded by two fashion editors, Katya Zubareva and Asya Varets), awoke unconscious admiration in me. Browsing through the pages of the online shop I rediscovered myself close to a concept that I had always refused. The variety of models makes the garment eclectic, able to maneuver on different occasions.
So, taken by enthusiasm, I even chose my five favorite models:
