Timberland Nature needs Heroes: towards a greener future

"My Community Our Nature"

By

Timberland launches an autumn campaign in the name of eco-sustainability, change and inclusion, collaborating with four “changemakers”, respectively from Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy, to develop social projects related to these issues.

For Italy Timberland has selected Antonio Dikele Distefano: writer, journalist and record artist, author of the novel “I never had my age” which inspired the Netflix series “Zero”.

Antonio's project concerns St. Ambroeus FC, a non-profit amateur sports association, based in the Gorla district (Milan) and very dear to Antonio as he frequents himself.

The team, which is mostly composed of foreign children and asylum seekers, and the Fair play Arena sports center, are points of reference for the neighborhood: unfortunately, however, they have been victims of a serious situation of decay for years, thus dispersing their enormous potential.

Antonio will strive to make the center a better place, giving it back a new life and creating an ever more open and inclusive community. The project involves the installation of a new eco-sustainable lighting system, an urban garden and an outdoor green area to be used for events.

To help Antonio there will be the actor and model Madior Fall, who will also be the face of the Timberland FW21/22 campaign for Aw Lab.

Timberland will donate five euros to the winner's project for every pair of Ray City and Originals Ultra sold, while Timberland Italia will pay St. Ambroeus FC five euros for every pair of Solar Low Greenstride sold by Aw Lab.

All participating ambassadors (Antonio Dikele Distefano together with Joy Crookes (UK), Aisha Vibes (Germany) and Jeny Bsg (France) will also have the privilege of wearing the famous GreenStride, the most comfortable and eco-responsible boots Timberland has ever made. In fact, the soles are made up of 75% sugar cane obtained from renewable sources and rubber obtained from trees, thus leading to a comfortable cushioning effect.
