Spring beauty cleanings: how to clean make-up brushes?

Yes, the brushes need to be cleaned, and not only in the spring!

By

While in this period of quarantine we all (or almost all) rediscover ourselves great chefs, sportsmen and third cousins of Marie Kondo, we want to continue to talk to you about how to take care of your skin by dealing with a topic that is often still underestimated: the cleaning of brushes.

"Ah why do the brushes clean?"

Absolutely yes!

Whenever we apply make-up, the bristles of the brushes - however soft - can cause small irritation by rubbing the skin, without neglecting the presence of the dust deposited on the surface.

This is why it is essential to keep the brushes clean, by cleaning at least once a week according to the frequency of use.

Obviously on the market there are special detergents and silicone mats to facilitate cleaning, such as those of brands such as Sephora and Real Techniques, but it is also possible to use products easily present in the home.

La nostra beauty expert @eli.salmon ci spiega come fare per pulire i pennelli del make-up 🧚🏼‍♀️🧼✨ #acrimoniabeauty #acrimonia #elisagrasso #makeup #skin #brush

What do you need?

1 bowl/container
Shampoo or mild soap
White wine vinegar or ethyl alcohol

Fill the bowl with warm water and add a few drops of shampoo and a couple of spoons of vinegar/ethyl alcohol to taste, mix for a moment and proceed with cleaning. Dip one brush at a time making rotational movements (brushing effect of the car wash, to be clear) on the base of the bowl, thus allowing the mixture to penetrate well between the bristles.

Once done put the brushes on a surface - it is fine to carry out the procedure even in the sink if clean - empty the bowl and fill it only with clean water, dipping the brushes again and making the same movement as before but this time to remove any residue of soap.

If necessary, repeat step 2 once again, helping yourself with your fingers to rinse the bristles well.

At this point, squeeze the brushes gently and place them to dry in a horizontal position on a clean sheet. Be careful not to bring them close to sources of heat, the glue that makes the bristles adhere to the handle could melt!

And here is that your brushes will be very clean!

We swear it is easier to do than to say.

See you soon!
