More than palimpsests, paleolithic

Presented the new schedules of Rai and Mediaset under the banner of safe used and cultural paucity. Besides, if all the national newspapers devote pages to the vulgarities present in “Temptation Island,” it means that the time for literary salons is over

By

Cristiano De Andrè: “Years of cultural backtracking. I can see why someone like De Gregori doesn't feel like writing anymore”. And you can understand why so many television writers have stopped confronting embarrassing executives who at best use the mantra “of the High and the Low”, aping Umberto Eco, without even knowing how to read a set list (times are everything in television).

In Rai nothing new compared to last year yes of course, Fiorello will be missing but it was known, the program was now boiled so no use looking for controversy. Stefano De Martino takes the podium, who is actually the most promising of the new generation. Conti inherits San Remo, safe used and let's hope it closes at a decent time. Aunt Mara immolates herself on the altar of Domenica In for yet another cloying sacrifice. All confirmed in both information and entertainment, with a couple of new entries. Massimo Giletti will exhibit his ego following a newfound Roberto Saviano. Teo Mammuccari will exhibit his vulgarity with a title that is all a program “Lo Spaesato” (read runaway). Luca Barbareschi returns with a remake of “Gioco delle coppie”. More used than that! The only one removed is Serena Bortone, the scarcest of the various Talk hosts, who will go to show off “her immense culture” on Radio. “Io sono di un’altra categoria” ...And everyone laughed!

Oh yeah Piero Chiambretti is back on Rai, but no one noticed.

The much-ballyhooed cultural revolution is difficult to do in the Networks, which, if now devoid of identity, must maintain standards determined by the advertising market; moreover, if you have poor executives and faces, it becomes impossible. One has to limit oneself to the power grab in the various TGs and that is no small thing.

A real political revolution is taking place in Mediaset. Pier Silvio Berlusconi, with the endorsement of his sister Marina, has decided to put an end to the propaganda drumbeat toward Salvini and Meloni: “We are not a newspaper, we are a newsstand”. Ample space for pluralism, already inaugurated last year with the arrival of Bianca Berlinguer, and a narrow field for Mauro Crippa, Mediaset's general information director and hidden director of the aforementioned propaganda.

For the rest, nothing new except for the very difficult attempt to bring Silvia Toffanin into the limelight of prime time under the tutelage of Maria De Filippi, an operation reminiscent of the one attempted and successful with Sveva Sagramola and Enza Sampò, at the time of “Caro Diario” and Mixer Giovani”.

Speaking of safe second-hand, the return of I Cesaroni is announced, and here the shoe is on the other foot: are we sure it is that safe?
