For how long will you continue to joke with our freedom?

Miley Cyrus continues to be the activist we need

By

"Every woman is a revolutionary", "Don't joke with our freedom. You will regret it, "Feminist AF", "Virginity is a social construct". We had left with a poster, perhaps the manifesto par excellence of 2019, or rather the liberty poster of the idol of the former teenagers Miley Cyrus. Some on social media had not really understood what was happening to the young 26-year-old, because these images, why these vitriol phrases on virginity or on owning a breast, but above all who is She (She), who is she talking about? In a recent interview with the monthly Elle USA, the cover girl Miley Cyrus, clarified all possible and imaginable doubts. Reading his interview, we understand that sometimes there shouldn't necessarily be a definition and that perhaps pausing too long to think about labeling someone or something is complicated and perhaps even useless. We should simply let live and give a purely subjective definition. Leave everything as it is. Miley has hinted, then, who is "She". Have you ever had to translate a word, for example from English into Italian or vice versa, and not be able to give the right translation because only in that language or in that slang the word has the true meaning and its true nature? Here with "She" is the same thing.

"She" is simply She, Miley, but it is also all women, all those strong, radiant, powerful women, those that Miley decides to define the SH-EOs (word game of the CEO acronym) of their life, but they are also those women blamed, accused, sometimes bullied, by public opinion or by their acquaintances. She is all those women who decide not to want children and for this time considered degenerate women. They are simply women who do not want to become mothers because they are not in their instincts. Those same women who are forced to become one even if they do not want it, even if it simply happened to "Sixteen and pregnant" or because it happened as victims of abuse. You are all those women who decide to put themselves first and therefore defined as selfish, unable to love others. You do not identify with a gender, you are not a pronoun that refers exclusively to a woman, She is a force of nature and, as such, impossible to define because it is too strong, too volcanic to have a single simple adjective that qualifies her.

There are no barriers, there are no limits, and this is perhaps the most frightening. We live in a society where it is right to have "rules", but there are many concepts, ways of feeling, of living, for which these rules, these schemes, should not, indeed, should not exist. You do not have to joke with the freedom of Miley and none of us, this is the fixed point that you continue to have by reading and looking at the pictures of the Cyrus profile. You look at it and think that the little girl put a wig on her head and sang The Best of Both Words has really changed, she grew up. How we've grown all of us since we watched her play in Hannah Montana. That respect he had been looking for since he wore the blonde wig and was taken very seriously, now Miley/She got it.

In a way, Miley is trying to educate others. He launched a real musical hymn with one of the most successful songs of the EP She, or "Mother's daughter", in which he shouts, in a red latex jumpsuit at the Britney of golden times, not to joke with his freedom, but also screams freedom, the one we should all have, the one we should all have access to. From the images in the video of Miley Cyrus one perceives the message that no one should get tired of screaming. No one should feel different, and at the bottom below we ask ourselves "but different from whom?". No one should think of having to hide their sexuality for fear of being judged. But above all nobody has to get tired of fighting for what is right and we pray you Miley don't do it either.
