Netflix & Chill? Here’s what to watch in 2021

Another period of strict restrictions is coming, and there is nothing better than watching tv series under a warm blanket. If you run out of shows and movies to watch, here are some suggestions to watch on Netflix in this 2021 full of surprises

By

Truth is that Netflix kept us company during the first lockdown offering a window to distract ourselves from the situation we were living and to breathe that “normal life” we were forgetting. This is probably why the streaming platform counted around 34 million new subscribers.

Despite the light growth’s decrease towards the end of the year, probably because of a slowdown in the contents upgrade (let’s not forget this pandemic hit hard the movie and production industry), the American company is now ready to start 2021 with a new schedule and original productions.

We already saw the success of Lupin and Bridgerton, and here is a small list of what is coming out that you can’t miss!

  • Headspace Guide to Meditation (docuseries)

Staying home does not necessarily mean it is easy to constantly take care of ourselves and it is paradoxically hard to have time for us: the routine keeps changing and scheduling our day can be complex. This guide is studied to make you relax for a moment, clear your mind space, and make sure that you will be your priority for just 20 minutes.

It is perfect for who works at home, has always thousands of things to do and can’t take the eyes off the computer or the smartphone.

Coming: January 1st.

  • Bling Empire (reality series)

A good mix of Selling Sunset, Crazy Rich Asians and The Hills, Bling Empire shows how rich Asians have fun under the Los Angeles’ sun. As every reality series, Bling Empire follows a very wealthy group of friends through their daily routines and events, showing the nicest fashion accessories and cars we dream of.

It is perfect for who loves luxury, the “good life” lifestyle, and the right amount of drama.

Coming: January 15th

  • Fate: The Winx Saga (serie)

As a kid, me and all my friends used to fight because we all wanted to be Stella when playing with the Winx. Winx fairies are an unforgettable memory for the Italian generation Z, and now they arrive on the big screen with an entire American production, this time for a more grown-up public.

It is perfect for who wants to watch something different but also to bring back their childhood heroines (but where is Tecna?)

Coming: January 22nd

  • The Last Paradise (movie)

We already saw him playing a gangster of the 80s in Lo Spietato, now Riccardo Scamarcio is a farmer of the 50s. Not just a love story, this movie tells the story of fight and sacrifice, which is based on real facts and that can be easily taken out from an Italian literature novel of that time: The Last Paradise recalls a humbler and poorer Italy, built by sacrifices and ambition.

It is perfect for who wants to go back to our roots and discover Italy and its culture under another light.

Coming: February 5th

  • To All the Boys: Always and Forever (movie)

Third chapter of the To All the Boys trilogy, the movie series that launched Noah Centineo as new dream boy of Gen Z: we all fell in love with him and his character Peter Kavinsky. In this chapter, Peter and Lara Jean have to make important decisions regarding their future, and even though we left them happily in love, could their love resist to the new challenges?

Perfect for who wants to go back to high school time and be thoughtless.

Coming: February, 12th.

  • A Star is Born (movie)

There is no need to introduce this movie, which had 8 Oscar nominations and won the Best Original Song award. A global success, A Star is Born saw Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga on the screen in such a harmony and syntony they got us catch feelings.

It is perfect for who wants to sing Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way in their loungewear and pajama.

Coming: February 14th

  • Summertime 2 (series)

Viva la Riviera Romagnola! The first season of Summertime made us believe Cesenatico could be the Italian Malibu, re-evaluating the small province and the realities far from the big cities. Who knows, maybe also this time we will start counting down to summer 2021.

It is perfect for who is nostalgic and can’t forget summer loves (especially when Ludovico Tersigni is involved).

Coming: it is just an internet rumor at the moment, but the possibility of its realization is high.
