Last night New York City was the wonderful corniche of the MTV Video Music Awards.
This year’s ceremony was particularly unique, considering the bizzarre absence of an audience, or the presence of a few outlandish prizes such as the best homemade video (congrats to JB and Ariana) or the best "Quarantine Performance".
The Weeknd opened the show with a breathtaking performance set on a futuristic skyscraper. The singer was surrounded by the blinding lights (sorry for the pun) of Manhattan, and wrapped up the performance with a firework extravaganza and a helicopter. Of course there was also Bella Hadid, who stomped on the red carpet. It seems pretty weird that they always find time to host the same shows, even though they are exes right now. We need to know more.
Doja Cat sang her latest hits, Maluma set the stage on fire thanks to his “caliente” sex appeal, and BTS served impeccable Gucci looks while performing their latest single “Dynamite”, a groovy catchy hit.

Miley Cyrus's comeback is just wow. Her latest aesthetic brings back that bling bling 80s euphoria and tons of sexy outfits. This time she quoted herself by riding a giant disco ball (rip to the wrecking ball, you’ll never be forgotten). She’s definitely a queen of pop.
However, the queen of the night was certainly Lady Gaga. She won 5 awards, performed a 10-minute-long medley of her latest songs from Chromatica, served the audience an amazing show with dancers and incredible looks. She felt so honored to receive the Artist Of the Year Award in such a troubled time. Pop music can heal us, and Lady Gaga is our ultimate favorite doctor.
