In 1997 Silvia Venturi Fendi decided to create the perfect bag, easy to wear, versatile and extremely cool. The italian fashion maison launched its brand new bag calling it Baguette, in order to give the idea of something cool and practical to use, to carry around with nonchalance just like French girls holding a fragrant baguette outside of a boulangerie. The almost 22-year-old bag was made in thousands of different models, from the basic one with the Zucca logo to the craziest ones embellished with paillettes, feathers, embroideries and fur. Some of these were worn inside and outside the Sex & the City set by Sarah Jessica Parker, who's a number one fan of the bag, so much that back in 2015 she signed a capsule collection of Baguettes with Silvia Venturini Fendi and she stated that the bag was a “defining moment" in Carrie's wardrobe. At the very beginning of the TV show the stylist Patricia Field had to invent cool looks using clothes from New York's thrift shops, according to the low budget destined to the costumes, but when a Fendi Baguette arrived from Rome to be sponsored on the show, Carrie's look changed, becoming more alluring and sophisticated. The bag was later worn by celebrities such as Madonna, Paris Hilton, JLO, ... just as cool as its owners! Nowadays the brand decided to relaunch the iconic piece through a multi-version campaign sponsored with the hashtag #BaguetteFriendsForever. In the first episode, set in a dreamy Shangai night, four Chinese personalities, including the vlogger and stylist Yoyo Lu, have a wild time, and strolls around with Baguettes. In the second episode, set in Hong Kong, starring japanese model Hikari Mori, four business women are searching for the lost Baguette. Declined in new pop colours such as pink and aquamarine, or shapes and textures, this bag was and will always be the perfect one.
