From which input did the single "Volo" start?
'Volo' was born from the desire to get away even for a moment from everyday life which often absorbs us and creates unnecessary anxiety. I thought of all those times when we feel the need to leave, to take a flight to reach a goal of the heart but unfortunately we cannot do it, and the only solution we have left is to fly with our wonderful mind. So, within the piece, I chose to 'portray' truly lived moments and 'images' of my fantasy that manage to project me into a state of pleasure and total relaxation, I dare say 'meditative'.

What does apprenticeship mean to a singer?
It means always choosing music, even when it seems the most difficult, almost impossible to go. Even if you have to play with 10 people who (perhaps) listen to you, disassemble at 4 in the morning with a heel 12)... even if at 16 years of age the otolaryngologist tells you that you can no longer sing. It means studying, personally I started studying singing at 13/14 years old and I never stopped, I still remember the hours of driving on the 131 Sardinian to go to class, what trips! The study I believe is fundamental, or at least for me it is because it makes me much more aware of what I do.
The strangest request received in DM?
I am reminded of one that more than weird is really beautiful and original! One day my friend and crazy hair designer Niky Epi asked me to make a video in which I was singing Lady Gaga's 'Always Remember Us This Way' on a rooftop in Piazza Diaz in Milan, at night with the Duomo in the background because it was supposed to make a special dedication. Obviously I made the video immediately, I liked it so much that I published it divided into two Instagram Stories. I remember that a director in direct wrote to ask me if he could insert them in a short film about Milan.
Tell us about your stage name: why Manuella?
'Manuella' is like my grandmother has always pronounced my name. When she calls me she says "Manuella mè" which simply means "Manuela mia" in our Gallurese dialect.
It is also what my friends always call me in all situations in which we find ourselves happy and carefree together. 'Manuella' is me without filters and barriers.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Immersed in the fjords to write a new album :)
