Gisela Cid, founder of Ônne, told us how her project was born

Timeless collections to enhance those who wear them

Behind Ônne, swimwear brand and recently activewear, there is Gisela Cid, a young creative woman who has put on track an entrepreneurial project that in two years has reached the peak of success.

We asked her a few questions, trying to figure out what drives a girl to create her brand today.

Ônne was born in 2017 after a trip to Bali, what happened and how was born the need to create an all-female swimwear brand in a landscape full of similar realities?

The impulse to create own beachwear label arose as a result of my own need, preparing a trip to Bali I realized how complicated was to find swimsuits that were comfortable and flattering but at the same time, they had something in the design that made them fancy. 

With the desire to give a solution to this, the brand was born with a easy value proposition: offering timeless and attractive beachwear collections to empower the girls who dress them.

How does the concept of women’s empowerment develop in the collections?

Ônne joins cancer prevention cause of the Spanish association AECC, the brand launches a pink solidarity bracelet in limited edition whose entire proceeds will be donated to the AECC. How important is it for a fashion brand to feel active in battles of this kind?

For us it is crucial. Ônne is more than clothes. Ônne is values and of course solidarity is one of them. We hope with this action to help many women who are fighting against cancer.

Recently Ônne opened to the world of activewear, what is behind the choice to expand, in such a short period of time, the offer by a brand?

The transition to activewear has happened in a totally organic way. We decided to launch the first sportswear capsule, thanks to everything we learned doing swimwear: we knew what our client wanted, we had developed fabrics that worked perfectly well when doing sports and, above all, we saw the same lack that prompted us years ago to launch a beachwear collection: the nonexistence of functional, timeless and truly beautiful garments in the market.
