We asked an Oasis fan what he expects from the 2025 reunion

“After all this time?” “Always”

By

The Oasis reunion Andrea saw it coming from afar, even if he didn't hope for it all the way. And now that the news is official he has managed to collect a debt with destiny. In 2009, as a high school student, he didn't get to see the Gallagher brothers' band play in Rome, which broke up shortly afterwards. Although he then continued to hear Liam and Noel's solo projects live, for a long time Andrea thought he would never get another chance to see them together on stage. We asked him then what he expects from next year's reunion and how he will prepare for it.

Did you expect this new tour or was it a bit like hoping for a fourth Cani album?

There was a part of me that was partly hoping for it and partly believing it would happen in 2025 on the 30th anniversary of (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. I had thought about it when the official page appeared on Instagram a few years ago. Another part of me was sure it would never happen. I thought I would die first. But it did.

How did you manage to get tickets for this reunion?

I don't know if it was fate or luck that my sister won the lottery so we got the tickets for Wembley the day before it went on sale. The seats are in the corner but I'd much rather be in the parterre because I like the idea of messing around with the crowd. The next day I couldn't buy any more but this year I think I'll still try and get parterre tickets for the same date.

What was Oasis for you?

I'm a particular fan in the sense that I became sick of Oasis a few months before they broke up and I didn't get to see them at the Palalottomatica when they came to Rome in 2009. So my first concert was actually of Beady Eye, which is Liam's band, which was actually Oasis without Noel, at the Atlantico the following year.

Over the years I have continued to listen to them and I have appreciated, apart from the hits and ballads, all the B-sides, the lesser known songs. I really like the last album for example because it is very psychedelic and compared to the first ones, which are still extremely beautiful, there is a sound that reminds me much more of rock.

Do you think anything has changed in 15 years?

In my opinion nothing has changed, at least from my point of view. The thought I have now is that the concert will be epic, I hope I'm not wrong. But I have to say that I also really enjoyed what Noel and Liam did as solo artists. So I'm actually a fan of the two of them, both singles and together, and I'm happy that they've continued to play because they've carried on a certain sound and still done some interesting things.

The song you can't miss at the concert you're going to see?

A song that I really like is on the last album they did called Bag it up and that is extremely rock'n'roll. Then among the older ones Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes & Alcohol.

Are you worried that Liam and Noel will fall out and leave the tour in the middle?

No, I hope they've had some sort of settlement and calmed down, with all the organisation that will be behind this reunion. Then, in my opinion, a key to making Oasis work now is for them both to continue their solo ways. That's something that for me can keep them together because they have their own projects and they come together to play when they want to.

How do you prepare for the concert?

For sure everyone will be there in mod britpop style clothes, with Liam hair, Ray Ban glasses and Adidas Gazelle. The parka maybe not because it's summer. But the only thing I think about, the best thing for me, is going there with friends, having a beer, having fun and messing around.
